In May 2008, the U.S. House Financial Services Committee held a Hearing on Examining the Need for H.R. 2885, the Credit Monitoring Clarification Act. The bill is sponsored by U.S. Reps. Paul Kanjorski (D-PA) and Ed Royce (R-CA).
