In June 2024, the Housing and Insurance Subcommittee of the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services held a hearing, Testimony of the HUD and FHFA Inspectors General.
In advance of the hearing, the committee staff circulated a memorandum.
The committee heard from two witnesses:
- The Honorable Rae Oliver Davis, Inspector General, Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
- The Honorable Brian M. Tomney, Inspector General, Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA)
The committee considered the following matters:
- H.J.Res. ___, providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Agriculture relating to the “adoption of energy efficiency standards for new construction of HUD and USDA-financed housing.”

- H.R. ___, the “NeighborWorks Transparency and Accountability Act”
- H.R. ___, an act to enhance the oversight authorities of certain Inspectors General
