Since the moment he sat in the acting director’s chair at the CFPB in January 2021, David Uejio has been focused on racial and ethnic equity. The latest director’s message continues that important theme. In a June 2 posting, Uejio write that “…my top priorities are to take bold and swift action to address issues of pervasive racial injustice and the long-term economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on consumers. Growing opportunities for those who have historically been denied them increases opportunity for everyone.” Uejio invited readers to learn more about the Bureau’s commitment to racial equity.
