NCLC has issued a report, Mismatched and Mistaken: How the Use of an Inaccurate Private Database Results In SSI Recipients Unjustly Losing Benefits.  The report comes with a press release.  The report takes an expansive view of who should be a CRA, it criticizes “name only matches,” and the report demands the provision of notices/disclosures in languages other than English.  These are all issues NCLC has taken up before across other CRA interests.  NCLC has called for full SSN matching, for example, and has strongly supported consumer disclosures be voluntarily provided by CRAs or required by statute.
